Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Ryan Stanton from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Stanton, 23, recorded 25 points (3G, 22A) in 73 games this season with Rockford. The St. Albert, Alberta, native set a career high in assists and ranked third on the team with a plus-16 rating. The 23 year-old was named Rockford's Best Defenseman for the 2012-13 season.
Stanton, who was signed by Chicago as a free agent on March 12, 2010, registered a career-high four-game point streak (2G, 3A) from March 30 to April 6. In 224 career games with the IceHogs, the d-man has accumulated 60 points (9g-51a) and 332 penalty minutes.
Prior to his professional career, Stanton tallied 102 points (19G, 83A) in 242 career Western Hockey League games with the Moose Jaw Warriors from 2005 to 2010.
